If you're a mum, know a mum, or want to be a mum, and you crave getting out in the world to make a difference, then you're in the right place. This is a space for mums like you to connect with yourself, your purpose, and your big, audacious dreams.
Because when you feel your best, you can better you, your family, and the wider world. Let's do this.
/Hey, I am so glad that you're here and I am super excited to introduce you to Unlocking You, a self coaching series. As you know, I'm Mel Findlater, a possibility coach, and in all of my work my aim is to help you move from a space of stuckness and overwhelm into a space of possibility. The [00:01:00] kind of possibility that exists once you're able to truly See it, because when you do, you can step into the incredible impact that you're meant to create in this world.
And one of the most powerful ways I've found to help with that, beyond coaching directly with me, is to give you the right questions to self coach. Because our minds are naturally curious. When we ask ourselves the right questions, ones that invite reflection, challenge assumptions, and open doors, we often discover that we already hold the answers we need.
We just need to create space to hear them. That's exactly what this series is here for. So over the next few episodes, in each episode, I will guide you through a simple but powerful coaching question designed to help you move from feeling stuck to seeing new possibilities. No pressure, no right or wrong answers, just a chance to check in with yourself and [00:02:00] uncover what's next.
So whenever you're ready, take a deep breath, settle in, and let's begin.
Welcome back to Unlocking You, a self coaching series. We're a few episodes in now to this series and we've done a few things. So if you haven't listened to the past Unlocking You series episodes, I highly recommend checking in, but you can, you can step in now as well if that works for you. But I do recommend going back and do the other ones as well.
And then this one. So, over the last few episodes, we've explored some really big questions together. We've started by checking in with where you are, and then we started to explore, what do you truly want? And then, in the last episode, we got to really step [00:03:00] into, what if it was possible? I am gonna have to start again because you got that totally fucking wrong.
Welcome back to Unlocking You, a self coaching series that we are doing on this podcast for the next few weeks. In the past few episodes, we've really started to dig into some, some questions that you can ask yourself and coach yourself through, including checking in with where you're at. We always start in that space.
Where are you at right now? Then exploring what you truly want. And then we dug into a little bit of visualizing what barriers were. Standing in the way. What does it look like for you? And then last week, we got to start to play in that space of possibility. We explored what, what if. This powerful, powerful question of what if.
What if [00:04:00] it was possible? We allowed ourselves to step into belief and to wonder, What if the path was already opening for me? What if this was meant for me?
So now we ask, in order to get into that space, what needs to shift? If it was a boulder that you imagined was in your way, how do we shift it? How do we, do we dig underneath it? Do we step around it? Do we make a magic hole and go through it? And if that's the visual for it, what is it that will help us do that?
What tools do we put in place? Or what do we need to shift to make that happen? Because stepping into what we want requires creating [00:05:00] space for it, both physically, mentally, and emotionally. It means looking at your life and making choices that align with where you want to go. This isn't about drastic changes or burning everything down.
It's about noticing what small shift would allow you to step more fully into possibility. So, as always, let's start by settling in, checking in with your body, and creating the openness that you need for this exploration.
So, take a deep breath in, and out. Let your shoulders soften. Let your jaw relax. And if it's available to you, and safe to do so, close your eyes, or soften your gaze. Notice your body. Where is it, where is there ease? [00:06:00] Where is there tension? What's present for you in this moment?
And now ask yourself, what if there was more space? More space for possibility, for clarity, and for movement.
What if I wasn't holding so tightly to the way things have always been?
What if I let go, just a little bit, of something that no longer serves me?
What if a simple shift could open the door to something new? Now imagine you're holding a full glass of water. The glass is your life as it is [00:07:00] now, your commitments, your routines, your habits, your thoughts, it's full. If you try to pour something new into it, what's going to happen? It'll overflow, right?
Now ask yourself, what needs to shift so that I can create space for what I truly want?
So let's start by noticing what's currently filling your life. That's physically, emotionally, mentally, all the things.
What in your life is feeling heavy or it's draining you right now?
Where are you spending your energy that no longer aligns with what you truly want?[00:08:00]
What are you holding on to? simply because it's familiar. Maybe it's a habit, a belief, a commitment, or even just a way of thinking that's taking up unnecessary space.
Now imagine gently tipping that full glass and letting a little bit spill out. Not all of it, just enough to make room.
So what's one thing? Bigger, small, that could shift to create more space for what you want.
What if you give yourself permission to release something that no longer serves you?[00:09:00]
What if letting go was the thing that made stepping forward easier?
Now, this is not about forcing big change. It's about creating space. So that when the opportunity comes, when the next step appears, you have the capacity to receive it.
Now let's come back to your vision. The life where you truly, what you truly want is unfolding. It's happening. The version of you who has already stepped into this possibility. Let's remind ourself. What is, what does your life look like? What do you no longer carry?
What have you made space for? What's different about how you move [00:10:00] through your day?
What if you could start making space for that version of yourself today? What if the smallest shift in your mindset, your routine, your choices, could begin that transformation right now? Let yourself sit. Just sit with that for a minute. No pressure to take action. Simply notice what's ready to shift.
And now that you've noticed and explored what might need to shift, I want you to hold on to one small shift you can make today. Not a huge leap, just one little tiny adjustment. One moment of space making. Maybe it's a thought that you decide to release. Maybe it's a boundary you choose to set. Maybe it's simply an openness to [00:11:00] letting something go when the time is right.
What if this one small shift created more space than you expected? What if it made the next step feel effortless? Let that question stay with you.
And that's it. If this episode resonated with you, as always, I'd love to hear what came up. You can pop me a message over on Facebook or Instagram. But don't forget to journal your thoughts. This was a reflection, something to think through, write it down, draw it out, record a voice memo, whatever it is that allows you to process those thoughts.
And get them out of your head and somewhere else, go do that. Make the space for it. And [00:12:00] in the next episode, we're going to explore another key question, which is, what are you saying yes to or no to? Because when we make space, we also get to be more intentional about what we allow in.
And then, until then, trust that even the smallest shifts create ripples of change. You got this.
