Hey, I am so glad that you're here and I am super excited to introduce you to Unlocking You, a self coaching series. As you know, I'm Mel Findlater, a possibility coach, and in all of my work my aim is to help you move from a space of stuckness and overwhelm into a space of possibility. The [00:01:00] kind of possibility that exists once you're able to truly See it, because when you do, you can step into the incredible impact that you're meant to create in this world.
And one of the most powerful ways I've found to help with that, beyond coaching directly with me, is to give you the right questions to self coach. Because our minds are naturally curious. When we ask ourselves the right questions, ones that invite reflection, challenge assumptions, and open doors, we often discover that we already hold the answers we need.
We just need to create space to hear them. That's exactly what this series is here for. So over the next few episodes, in each episode, I will guide you through a simple but powerful coaching question designed to help you move from feeling stuck to seeing new possibilities. No pressure, no right or wrong answers, just a chance to check in with yourself [00:02:00] and uncover what's next.

/ So welcome back to the Unlocking You self coaching series. We have done a few episodes now, which means if you haven't listened to them, do go and do that, because this series is walking you through multiple coaching questions, and it's really helpful to start at the beginning. But if you're here now and enjoying this one, feel free to listen to it, and you can always come back to it again after you've done the other ones.
Over the last few episodes, we've [00:04:00] been on a journey together. First, we started with checking in with you, where are you at right now? We always start right there. And then getting clear on what you really want. What is possible? What is the big dream? And then last time we started to explore what might be holding you back.
We named the fears and the doubts and the internal barriers that can stand in our way. We got curious about them. We noticed them. And most importantly, we acknowledged that they exist. And that awareness is powerful. When we can stop, notice, without shame, without judgment, then we're able to move through them.
So today I want to invite you into a totally different question. [00:05:00] What if those barriers weren't as solid as they seemed? If yours was a boulder last time, or a brick wall like mine, or a locked door, what if they weren't as solid as they seemed? What if you could loosen their grip? Even just a little. What if, instead of assuming something isn't possible, you let yourself believe, even just for a moment, that it is?
What if it is possible?
So as always, let's start by arriving in this moment. So wherever you are, get safe. Close your eyes if you'd like to, and take a deep breath. In and out. If it feels [00:06:00] comfortable, soften your shoulders. Unclench your jaw and let yourself settle.
Bring your awareness to your body. How's it feeling right now? Is there tension? What part? Wiggle your toes. Notice your feet on the floor or wherever they are. Simply observe without judgment and then take another deep breath in and out.
What if, just for these next few minutes, you gave yourself permission to enter a space of openness? A space of possibility. What if, instead of shutting down an idea too soon, you let yourself sit with it? [00:07:00] What if your job right now was to wonder?
I want you to imagine something. Picture standing at the edge of a landscape. Maybe it's a vast open field, or a quiet forest path, or a mountaintop with a view stretching endlessly in front of you.
What is this space for you? This is a space of possibility. There are no barriers here, no locked doors, no heavy weight of I can't. There's simply openness.
Now, step into this space. Imagine that what you truly want, the thing that we explored back in our previous episodes, [00:08:00] what if it's not only possible? But it's already unfolding. Imagine that things are working out for you.
What if you were already on your way to that big dream? To that life that you really, truly want? What if the path that you want is already opening up? Even if you can't see the full map yet?
What if you didn't need to know exactly how, but simply trust that the next step would appear?
What if you allowed yourself to fully step into this [00:09:00] reality?
This question of what if is such a powerful one when we use it in this way. Anxiety often has us using it in the opposite way, with the but what if. But what if as an and is huge.
What if you could make this anything you want it to be? This life, it's yours. When we allow ourselves to ask this question of what if. Our brain goes straight into visualizing it working, it happening. Our imagination works in our favor. Because our brain doesn't actually understand the difference between reality and fake and imagination.[00:10:00]
So, what if you're in this beautiful space surrounded by exactly who it is you want to be surrounded by? And you're doing exactly what you want to do. You're being exactly who you want to be.
It's beautiful, isn't it? And now you've seen it. You've seen it happen. And the more you do this, the more you ask yourself, what if, and allow yourself to play in this space, to imagine, the more your brain starts to think that that is the reality and it starts to manifest into it being the reality.
What if your life could be exactly. [00:11:00] What
if you could wake up in the morning with this reality already unfolding? What if it felt easy? What if it felt aligned with you?
Let yourself sink into this visual. Notice the details. Feel the air. Hear the sounds. Tune into the energy of what it's like to exist in this space of possibility.
What if this wasn't just a dream but a reality? You're ready. You're already stepping into.
So often [00:12:00] we dismiss possibility before we even allow ourselves to fully imagine it. We assume it's too hard or too unrealistic or all those things. But what if just for today you let yourself try on believing? It's like trying on a new outfit, just seeing how it feels.
Take what you just imagined and try it on for the day. What if you lived today as if that was already happening? What would that look like? What would it feel like?
What if the only thing standing in your way is the belief that something is standing in your way? That barrier we talked about last time? Boulder or wall or locked door? What if it only exists because we believe it exists?[00:13:00]
What if we could take a little magic wand and whisk it away?
What if you took one tiny little step towards this today just to see what would happen?
So now that you've stepped into this space, I want you to hold on to just one thing from today's reflection. Whether it's a feeling, or a vision, or just the question itself of what is possible. What if it is possible? What if you let that question stay with you all throughout the day? What if every single time doubt creeps in because it will?
What if you woke up tomorrow and [00:14:00] chose to believe just a little more than you did today? Let this question sit with you. Let it challenge the old stories, the limiting beliefs, the automatic no, that might come up when you think about what you truly want. And over the next few days, notice when your mind tells you something isn't possible.
And instead of shutting the door, ask, but what if it is? What would that change? You don't need to take massive action today. Simply let yourself be open.
