Hey, I am so glad that you're here and I am super excited to introduce you to unlocking you a self coaching series. As you know, I'm Mel Findlater a possibility coach, and in all of my work my aim is to help you move from a space of stuckness and overwhelm into a space of possibility. The [00:01:00] kind of possibility that exists once you're able to truly See it, because when you do, you can step into the incredible impact that you're meant to create in this world.
And one of the most powerful ways I've found to help with that, beyond coaching directly with me, is to give you the right questions to self coach. Because our minds are naturally curious. When we ask ourselves the right questions, ones that invite reflection, challenge assumptions, and open doors, we often discover that we already hold the answers we need.
We just need to create space to hear them. That's exactly what this series is here for. So over the next few episodes, in each episode, I will guide you through a simple but powerful coaching question designed to help you move from feeling stuck to seeing new possibilities. No pressure, no right or wrong answers, just a chance to check in with yourself and [00:02:00] uncover what's next.
So whenever you're ready, take a deep breath, settle in, and let's begin.
/ And so we are at episode two in our little mini series, Unlocking You, a self coaching series. And we're looking beyond what we did last time. We're doing, what do I really want? Helping you to move beyond what you think you should want and step into the possibilities that are waiting for you. So in our last episode, we focused on checking in, on getting honest with ourself about where we're at right now.
Today We're taking the next step, and we're asking ourselves, What do I really want? And I want to emphasize that this isn't about what you should want. It's not about what the world, your family, or your past expectations have [00:03:00] told you that you should want. It's about you, your dreams, your desires, your life.
But sometimes, when we've spent so long meeting the needs of others, we forget how to check in. On our own needs. So today I'm inviting you into a space of noticing. We're not forcing answers. We're simply creating room for them to emerge. So. Let's start by getting quiet and making space for possibility.
Now, some of you might be driving, some of you might be tending to children, some of you might be cooking a meal, or maybe you're out for a walk. Wherever you are, use this as it will work for you. You can listen to it once in a space of busyness and come back to [00:04:00] it later. Or, simply use it in the space of busyness and See what comes out of it, but if you can take the time to give yourself these next few minutes to you, to connect with yourself, you'll get even more out of this.
So,
let's create space to imagine.
We need to slow down. So take a deep breath in and out. If you can, let yourself be still just for a moment. Have a look around the room. What do you notice? Where are you? How many colors do you see? [00:05:00] Can you see any nature?
And now, I want you to picture yourself in a life where things feel aligned. A life where you're living in a way that feels deeply right for you.
Where are you?
Are you in nature? In a city? By the ocean? In a cozy home? What do you see around you?
What does the air feel like? What does it smell like? What does it sound like?[00:06:00]
And who are you with? Are you alone? Are you surrounded by loved ones? Are you working with inspiring people? Are you tending to children? Who are you with?
And what are you doing? Are you creating? Speaking? Building something? Moving your body? Resting?
And just as importantly, what are you not doing? What have you let go of? What is no longer weighing you down?
Now, stay in this moment for a little while. Notice what feels good here. [00:07:00] What feels expansive? What feels like home to you?
Now, let's bring it back to one simple but powerful question. What do I really want?
Not what feels practical, not what feels responsible, not what someone else expects of you, but what you, deep down, truly want. What do you crave? What do you desire?
And what excites you [00:08:00] when you let yourself dream without limits?
What have you been secretly craving but never given yourself permission to name?
Now notice what comes up. Maybe it's clear. Maybe it's just a feeling. Maybe it's a pull towards something. Either way, trust that what arises is valid.
Now, I invite you to take a moment to just sit in this space. Don't go and rush into action right away. Simply be with the vision and the feeling. The knowing that you're allowed to [00:09:00] want what you want.
What if this vision wasn't impossible? What if it's waiting for you? What if the first step was simply allowing yourself to believe it's possible? Actually, what if the first step was simply noticing what it is that you want?
Now give yourself permission to stay here a little longer, even when you can no longer hear my voice.
Coaching is about awareness. Coaching is about awareness leading to action. But before we take action, we need to truly own what we want. So your next [00:10:00] step is simple. Find one simple way to honor this desire today. It doesn't have to be a big move. Maybe it's journaling about what came up. Maybe it's saying it out loud to someone you trust.
Maybe it's just holding onto the feeling of possibility for a little longer. Whatever it is, trust that this awareness is the first.
Now, if this reflection brought something up for you, I'd love to hear about it. You can send me a message, go on social media, maybe you want to write down your thoughts or doodle or draw them, let that creative genius come out or definitely share this episode with someone else who might need it. Don't forget, you can listen to this as many times as you want.
If I was going too fast for you. Slow it down. Next time, [00:11:00] tech lets you do that. If I was going too slow for you, speed it up. You get to do this in your way.
So until next time, take care of yourself and remember, you're allowed to want what you want.
